Recipe Ideas for Kids' Meals and Snacks
Who doesn't love recipe ideas when it comes to feeding kids?!
Here are a few of my favourite:
Bell Pepper Pizza Bites
Roasted Chicken Pho With Zucchini Noodles
Spaghetti Squash With Meat Sauce
Kids Sushi Roll Ups
Note: dip the sushi in sauce free from sugar (including honey). E.g. mayonnaise, Caesar or ranch dressing, full fat sour cream, guacamole
The original recipe I use (can’t seem to find online right now) is 3 eggs, 3 bananas (at least 1 greenish, and others yellow –not brown), and 1/3 cup nut or seed butter (I have had great success with almond butter and tahini), optional - chopped fruit or berries of choice. Mix batter together and cook like regular pancakes. I usually top up with pureed berries (‘jam’!), coconut oil or butter, cinnamon, etc. Enjoy!

Savoury Egg Muffins
- I find that here, again, you can use a ratio of 8 eggs to 3 cups chopped vegetables of your choice + herbs and spices to make them extra yummy! J
Chicken and Zucchini Poppers (“meat” balls)
- I find you can add more salt/pepper, herbs (parsley/organo/basil), garlic and onion to this recipe. Also, I sometimes substitut ground beef or pork. Enjoy!
Banana Muffins (grain free, gluten free, sugar free)
Shifted Granola Bars (grain and dairy free)
Note - I do not add any sweetener and they are amazing on their own, and kid-approved! I find that if you keep the ratio of wet (egg) ingredients to dry ingredients, you can add whatever you choose (nuts/seeds/coconut/oats, etc).
Paleo Banana Bread
Great with or without chocolate chips
